Awakening

Music by: Blues Funeral
Lyrics by: Jan Kimmel

(Lead – Eggenschwiler)

I want to ask you a question
The answer I may not like
In all the things I've experienced
Something I've yet to find

He walks upon the land
He is one with strife
Floats on darkest waters
Rediscovered life

(Lead – Kimmel)

I want to pose you a question
The answer may not be right
Here there is an empty shell
One day into one of the night

He walks upon the land
He is one with strife
Floats on darkest waters
Rediscovered life

I haven't slept in years
I haven't dreamt since birth
When I first saw a light
And fell onto the earth

Eternal throne of sleep
Is where he rests his bones
Not to rejoice not to weep
Not his but not disowned

(Lead – Eggenschwiler)

(Lead – Kimmel)

I am awake now
I am awake now
I am awake now
I am awake now

He walks upon the land
He is one with strife
Floats on darkest waters
Rediscovered life

I haven't slept in years
I haven't dreamt since birth
When I first saw a light
And fell onto the earth

Eternal throne of sleep
Is where he rests his bones
Not to rejoice not to weep
Not his but not disowned

about

Blues Funeral Houston, Texas

Following a temporary hiatus for Sanctus Bellum in November of 2014, Sanctus Bellum members, Jan Kimmel, Cory Cousins, and Maurice
Eggenschwiler immediately formed Blues Funeral
recruiting Gabe Katz on bass, and spent the next several
months writing.
This has culminated into a diverse array of proto-metal
and progressive rock very much steeped in a vision of the music from the 60’s and 70’s.
