Paragon of Virtue

from The Search by Blues Funeral

/

about

This is the fourth track off our upcoming album - 'The Search'. It should give you a good feel for the style.

lyrics

Verse:
I am deceit that brought the chains of Hades,
And made a jester of a king,
I am the quiet whisper on a tree branch,
Unrivaled by the deepest sting,

Chorus:
Your castle, a wilted flower
In a garden of decay,
Where tear drops mark the hours,
Beneath the sun's last ray,

Your streams are running black,
And I know you see it too,
Your homes of gossamer,
Now cracked, expose the truth,

Pre-verse:
Paragon of virtue,
Bloodless masquerade,
Malicious retinue,
Straw-man parade,

Verse:
I am the dagger, that pierced the tyrant's back,
An Eden born in crimson rain,
I am the noose on the end of a taut rope,
Sometimes the door to the end brings laughter,

Chorus:
Your castle, a wilted flower
In a garden of decay,
Where tear drops mark the hours,
Beneath the sun's last ray,

Your empire, a wax museum,
Bound with feckless glue,
Your legacy, a mausoleum,
Of dreams in a sallow hue,

about

Blues Funeral Houston, Texas

Following a temporary hiatus for Sanctus Bellum in November of 2014, Sanctus Bellum members, Jan Kimmel, Cory Cousins, and Maurice
Eggenschwiler immediately formed Blues Funeral
recruiting Gabe Katz on bass, and spent the next several
months writing.
This has culminated into a diverse array of proto-metal
and progressive rock very much steeped in a vision of the music from the 60’s and 70’s.
