lyrics

Son, come take a look
These pyres burn so brightly
Casting shadows so long
march to their own life beat

The colors in the sky
Remind us there is always "why?"
And if we are to die then
Glance once more and know my eyes

Whatever we're searching for / Whatever we're crying for
The scraps on the killing floor / I can't find them
The things that have left us poor / The feelings we're letting go
To chase after something more / I can't find it

The beasts that roamed the wild
Now tamed by angry child
Covered in clouds of black
From wicked man's attack

A forest of Orange is dead
And while we rest our heads
The knowledge escapes again
And we keep warring on

Whatever we're searching for / Whatever we're crying for
The scraps on the killing floor / I can't find them
The things that have left us poor / The feelings we're letting go
To chase after something more / I can't find it

I don't want this for you
But what can man do, after all?
You’ve got to grow
And then you’ll find what you know

Something’s happened to you
It has befallen us all
If we only knew we’d
Crumble to our knees and call

Whatever we're searching for / Whatever we're crying for
The scraps on the killing floor / I can't find them
The things that have left us poor / The feelings we're letting go
To chase after something more / I can't find it

Whatever we're searching for / Whatever we're crying for
The scraps on the killing floor / I can't find them
The poison that makes us pure / The reason that we abjure
Whatever it is I want more / And I'm not lying

about

Blues Funeral Houston, Texas

Following a temporary hiatus for Sanctus Bellum in November of 2014, Sanctus Bellum members, Jan Kimmel, Cory Cousins, and Maurice
Eggenschwiler immediately formed Blues Funeral
recruiting Gabe Katz on bass, and spent the next several
months writing.
This has culminated into a diverse array of proto-metal
and progressive rock very much steeped in a vision of the music from the 60’s and 70’s.
