A constant reminder of the guilt for my crime

I rode for days, unto the place where I first saw you
Thought I could chase a glimpse of sun once last time
There was a haze that manifested in the forest

Like writhing snakes, the onyx tresses of your hair
Lay scattered still beneath the old oak tree
As if to warn of some impending danger
Perhaps the hemlock will finally set me free
